The Poster's Checklist - The Key Elements

  • Category
    • Make sure you have placed the ad in the category most suiting to the item. This is one of the most important aspects of having your ad noticed.
  • Title
    • These are the basic information inputs, but also can make or break your sale. The title should be catchy, but it should also be informative.
  • Picture
    • Always include a picture! Even if you don’t have an actual picture, include a stock photograph from the company’s manufacturer. A picture will always get an ad more noticed. If the picture is not of your actual item, however, make sure you note that it is a photo provided by the manufacturer of wherever you might have received it from.
  • Location
    • The majority of users will search or browse by an item’s location. Everyone will want to purchase something close to them because it is more convenient. Make sure you provide an accurate item location!
  • Price
    • You must decide on the proper price and strategy you want to take. This is one of the most important steps.
  • Make and model
    • Details, details, details. These along with many others are as important as possible to completing the sale. A potential buyer will want to know as much information as there is to purchase something and they will want to obtain it in the easiest manner.
  • Size and color
  • Condition
    • What is the condition of the item? Is it new, used or reconditioned?
  • Service or warranty
    • Does it include a warranty? Has it has service work done on it?
  • Transaction completion
    • How do you intend on completing the transaction? What method payment will you accept? If it must be delivered, how do you plan on delivering it?
  • Contact information
    • Make sure your ad includes ways to contact you. Be sure your correct email in on account so users can contact you by that method. If you want, you can leave your name and phone number in the description as a means of contacting you. I would recommend only putting your first name though.
