- It really is 100%, no hidden fees, absolutely free to post every ad in any category. We strive to give our customers the best experience possible, and what way would any person that uses our site enjoy it more than for it to be completely free? We couldn’t think of one. - Do I have to register to post a free ad?
- Yes, you do have to register to post a free ad. Registration is vital to all services being available to you while using our site. Registration allows us and users to contact you, makes it possible for the feature that lets you know the distance ads are from you when searching or browsing, and give you the ability to manage and be in control of all aspects of you using our site. We are just here to provide the service. You make it happen!
- How to submit a post
- Submitting a post is easy! First, click “post an ad” on the top right horizontal navigation buttons on the main page and it will bring you to the first step. On the next page, you will choose the category you want to post your ad to. Choose a category and move to the next page where you will actually create your ad. All categories are different so what you will have to fill out will depend on which you chose. Fill out all of the required fields with as much detail as you can and hit submit. The following page will let you preview exactly what your ad will looks like. On the bottom you have two options, one to return pack to the ad creation page to make changes and one to submit the ad. Once you hit submit, if the ad was successfully added to the database a message will appear informing you of its success. It will also give you the options to view your ad or to post another.
- Do I have to include a location when I post my ad?
- Yes, you do have to include a location. Having a location listed with the ad is vital to its success. One of the main ways people will locate your ad is by searching or browsing by location. People will want to buy items that are closer and more convenient to them. Putting in the location allows them to do that. It also allows your ad to be able to use all features such as the “distance from you” feature which informs users how far ads are from their current location.
- Classified Ad Information Section
- What we are referring to here is the different areas in which you can enter details for a classified ad. Putting the exact mileage for an automotive ad or putting the desired years of experience for a job listing. Having as much detail as possible in your ad will always increase your chances of selling the item. Also, fill out the entire form every time to minimize any questions potential buyers might have.
- I can't type into the description box when I am trying to submit a post. What should I do?
- Check to make sure that you are using an updated version of your Internet browser. If you are using Safari on an older version of Macintosh OS X, we suggest you try Firefox instead. If you are using a version of Internet Explorer that is older than version 6 we suggest upgrading to Internet Explorer version 6 or 7.
- How to edit or delete a post
- To edit or delete a post, simply login, go to my account, and click current ads in the links on the left hand side. Find the ad you are looking for in your list of ads and locate the edit and delete buttons all the way to the right of it. To delete the ad click the delete button for the specific ad and it will bring you to a confirmation screen. If you are sure you want to delete that particular ad, click yes to confirm it and the ad will be deleted. To edit an ad, click the edit link to the right of the ad. This will bring you to a form similar to the one you used to create the ad initially. All of your current values will be inserted into the form so you will only have to update the fields. Once done, click submit and your ad has been edited and updated.
- How to include a picture
- To include a picture with your ad, you must have one chosen by hitting the browse button when you submit the ad on the ad creation page. The picture must be less than 100 KB in size for it to upload. You can also change the picture or add one in the edit ad feature in my account. - My thumbnail picture isn't showing up. What should I do?
- If you have a picture showing up when viewing the actual ad but do not have a picture show up in search or browsing results, please contact us at help@itshereclassifieds.com. We will work out the situation to where your thumbnail is showing up.
- When will my ad expire?
- All ads expire after 30 days. You can, however, repost it as many times as you need to if it does not sell.
- Can I re-post my ad after it expires?
- Absolutely! You are allowed to repost your ad for free as many times as you would like.
- What if I don't receive payment from a buyer?
- If a buyer unexpectedly backs out of purchasing an item you have a few options. You can sell the item to a different user that contacted you or you can also simply relist the item. Also, please report any non-paying item winners to administration. We keep records of these people and will suspend and/or remove them.
- How to repost
- To repost, you will have to follow the exact same process that you used to upload the ad the previous time.
- I can't find my ad. What should I do?
- If you submitted an ad and it had shown a successful message upon completion, first go to my account and see if the ad is showing up as one of your current ads. If it is but you can’t get it to show up searching for it or browsing for it, please contact us at help@itshereclassifieds.com. If it is not showing up in my account either, the ad is not in our database and you will have to resubmit it.
- Why was my posting deleted?
- There are a couple of different reasons that could explain why your ad was deleted. If your ad is determined to be spammed then it will be deleted. If your ads contains offensive language or items that aren’t allowed your ad will be removed. We also allow other users to try to “police” the community by giving them the ability to flag ads. If an ad has been flagged it will be reviewed by administration and could be removed. If you have any questions concerning the ad removal policies please contact us at admin@itshereclassifieds.com.
- What are "flags" and "flagging"?
- Making sure the items for sale on this site is very important to us. Therefore, we have set up a system where while viewing the ad you can you can flag it to be reviewed by administration. Some reasons to flag an ad are: the ad appears to be fraudulent, it contains offensive words or phrases, or is repetitive/spam. If an ad meets any of these criteria please click the “flag this ad” link on the item’s page. It will be reviewed and removed if necessary. Not all ads can be caught by administration so please help us to keep It’s Here Classifieds a safe and friendly community. - How will people contact me about my ad? Do I have to put contact information in my ad?
- The most common way people will contact you will be through email. They will contact you and you can directly respond to them. If you would like to enter more contact information in the description you are more than welcome to do so.
- How can I get more responses to my ad?
- There are many ways to gain interest in your ad! Please check out our seller’s tips located on the home page for many great ideas on ways to improve your sales.
- After I've accepted the buyer's offer, what do I do?
- Once the buyer accepts your offer, you need to make arrangements to complete the transaction. If it is a local transaction, you must agree to meet at a safe, public location. You will also need to finalize an agreement on the payment terms and complete the transaction.
- What happens when my item has sold?
- When your item has sold, you need to go to my account and delete the ad from the database since it is no longer for sale.
- How do I contact buyers?
- The easiest way would be to respond to an email they sent you inquiring about your ad. However, if they have never contacted you or you no longer have their email, you can contact them by clicking the contact user link in the upper right hand corner of the home page or in my account. Once to this page, enter the username for the user you want to contact, the message’s subject, and enter the message. Click send and your message has been sent!
- What kinds of buyer behavior are considered suspicious?
- You should not complete the transaction if you are beginning to feel suspicious about the buyer. Please report any suspicious behavior to admin@itshereclassifieds.com. Some examples of suspicious behavior are: place large orders to be sent to a foreign location, say they will pay you half of what's due before they receive the item, and half payment afterwards, pay with an international credit card or cashier's check, recommend an unfamiliar escrow or payment service, use poor English in their communications, or insist on COD. It is important to note that many carriers (notably FedEx), will do very little to confirm the identity of the buyer, or validity of a payment instrument. This has allowed some fraudulent buyers to use fake cashier's check on CODs.
- Can I link to my website or my existing ad that is already on the web?
- Sure! You can place links to anywhere you would like inside your description box. You are free to do whatever you would like with the description.
- How do I know that an email is really from It’s Here Classifieds?
- Emails that we send personally to you, no matter for what reason that will be, will include your first and last name to prove that it’s from us. Someone spamming you will not know the name you have entered in our database. Other emails, such as a periodic newsletter, will not include your name though.
